The finance team at Deribit is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented GL Accountant to join us. Our team is committed to maintaining financial accuracy and integrity across our diverse group of companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger: Oversee the books of all group companies, ensuring accurate posting of business transactions.
  • Accounts Payable: Supervise AP activities and processes, produce month-end supplier statements, checks, and cost analysis. Manage employee reimbursement processing and conduct regular evaluations.
  • Accounts Receivable: Oversee the issuance of sales invoices and credit control, and perform monthly reconciliation of debtors' accounts.
  • Cash Management: Oversee cash flow management by comparing rolling cash positions with payables on a weekly basis before payment runs.
  • Payroll: Manage monthly payroll postings, liaise with external payroll companies, and perform monthly payroll reconciliations.
  • VAT Compliance: Ensure correct posting of VAT transactions and assist the tax team in preparing quarterly VAT returns.
  • Month-End Close: Play a key role in month-end preparation and closing activities, including journal postings (accruals, prepayments, intercompany) with appropriate documentation in line with company policies.
  • Reconciliations: Produce month-end reconciliations for bank accounts, payables, and receivables.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Support and Assistance: Provide support and assistance with other tasks and duties within the department as required.

Job requirements

What we expect from you

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: 3+ years of work experience in accounting, preferably in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Relevant experience with various ERP systems is essential. Proficiency with common MS Office tools is required, and experience with Exact Online is a strong plus.
  • Work Environment: Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, highly diverse, continuously developing, and informal high-achieving environment.
  • Personal Attributes: Proactive self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, excellent communication skills, time management, and initiative.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written English communication skills with high attention to detail.
